Weed & Seed Evaluations
From its inception, Weed and Seed has been characterized as a strategic approach to crime control and community revitalization. In keeping with this orientation, there has been a long-standing commitment to evaluating which strategies are effective, which are not, and why. Since 1994, Weed and Seed-related evaluation efforts have included nationally sponsored or conducted studies as well as locally initiated reviews.
This body of work taken as a whole provides documentation on the many diverse and varied aspects of the national Weed and Seed Strategy as it has evolved over the years. It also highlights the challenges of assessing on a national level an initiative that is based on locally identified priorities and locally developed strategies for addressing crime problems in distressed communities.
This section offers access to those evaluation reports available for public distribution. As more studies are produced or submitted to CCDO, they will be added to this collection.
